Privacy policy

What we collect, why, how we protect it, and your rights.

Last updated: August 6, 2026

{{BUSINESS_LEGAL_NAME}} ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we handle it, and your rights. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Who this covers

This policy covers personal information about:

  • Visitors to brevitytech.ca and people who contact us.
  • Clients and their staff, in the course of providing our services.

For personal information we handle on behalf of a client (inside their email, files, and systems), the client is responsible for that information, and our handling is governed by our data processing agreement with them.

What we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, business, email, phone, and anything you include when you contact us or book a check.
  • Client information: the contact and account details we need to deliver services.
  • Website information: basic, privacy-respecting analytics and standard server logs. We keep tracking to a minimum.

We collect only what we need.

Why we use it

  • To respond to enquiries and provide the free check.
  • To deliver, support, and bill for our services.
  • To keep systems secure and meet legal obligations.
  • To send service updates. We do not sell your information, ever.

We rely on your consent and on the legitimate needs of our business relationship. You can withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including access controls, multi-factor authentication, and encryption where practical.

Where it lives

We keep personal information in Canada wherever practical. Some service providers we rely on (for example, Microsoft or Google) may process information outside Canada; where that happens, it remains subject to appropriate protection, and we will tell you if you ask.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers who help us operate (for example, hosting, backup, and the platforms we manage), bound to protect it and use it only for that purpose.
  • When the law requires it, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information or share it for others' marketing.

How long we keep it

Only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, plus what the law requires us to keep. Then we securely delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

You may:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and get access to it;
  • ask us to correct it;
  • withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits; and
  • complain to us, and to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

To make a request, contact us below. We respond within the timelines the law sets.

Cookies

brevitytech.ca uses only what it needs to function and, if any, privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use advertising trackers. If we add anything that needs consent, we will ask first.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date shows when. Material changes will be made clear.
